Storm Clouds "Gathering"and then "Dispersing"

Note: This document is essentially as HOZ posted it, so you get the flavour of the original, (but I've "adjusted" the spelling on some words)

This is for those of you have never been to the Burnley Site or the Tower as it is known. This was my first time to an LT event at that site so I thought I would do a quick write up about my experiences for the weekend.

This was my first visit to the town of Burnley, what an absolutely charming place, all the houses look exactly the same rather reminiscent of the opening sequence of Coronation Street. And yes they do have a petrol station it is well hidden though so be ready for an adventure to find it. We succeeded in our quest to find the Petrol station with the help of Adam "THE MONSTER REF" who kept telling us not to go through those walls, they are solid not just paper with "WALL" written on them even on the streets of Burnley.

The Keep/Warehouse/Site/Labyrinthe/Tower is arranged on two levels, an In Character area on one level and an Out of Character area on a second level. The Out of Character level is just a large room where everyone drops their stuff for sleeping. We arrived on site, checked in with the LT staff (you know the GUYS an GALS that play the sick characters at the Gathering) and proceeded to have almost all of our weapons and shields failed. I then argued with the LT staff for a while just to get myself ready and into the right frame of mind for my In character weekend. I got a strop on, then my costume and I went upstairs in search of a monster to vent my frustration on (Ideally a member of Staff) It did not happen until we saw some Gobbos and so it all started.

I am not going to bore you all with the details of what happened you should have been there if you really wanted to know. Needless to say the In Character situations and plot were very good indeed. It flowed at whatever pace you chose to get involved in. If you wanted something to do there was always something you could do. I really really really really really enjoyed myself.

Here are a few of the things that did occur and a few rumours that I can remember please feel free to add what I did not know or see.

Rumours flying that the Exiles are going to kill all the NPC. I am quite sure that the NPC were all shitting bricks especially all the ones immune to everything bar Silver and enchanted and so on and so forth!..We killed No ONE.(If only we had had an enchanted blunt silver weapon then..)
Three factions wanted to take Rockhome into their land area Harts, Dragons and Bears.
The bears came, saw and conquered "Veni Vedi Vici" a castle full of Gobbos and undead.
The Harts came and watched everyone and did nothing to offend anyone (nothing that anyone saw or they could not deny later anyway plausible deniability I think would be the best way of putting it. )
The Dragons they got pissed and ended up having a brawl with everyone in the tavern and got beaten up for their troubles (one of them managed to bring up everything he had drunk earlier on up just before going to bed)
Lions Arrive for some unknown reason I think it was an excuse for them all to celebrate the Birthday of Lord Rhino and get pissed. Sleep now that is a strange concept which never occurred to the Lions who arrived at 4 o’clock in the morning and decided to fight and shout and just generally have a good time till the sun came up. They then proceeded to stay awake for the rest of the next day. They're Animals.
The Unicorns you know that so called useless faction that do nothing and can achieve nothing well they just got Rockhome from under the Noses of the four oh so "Powerful" Factions above who boast about their achievements and powers. Being the merchants of the Land and silver tongued they achieved with their word of mouth what the Bears could not with the force of arms present, or the Harts with their scheming or the Dragons with their complete disregard for anything happening around them (apart from Drinking that is) I am sure they had a plan but I don’t think they told any one or even themselves what it was. Lions were celebrating a birthday party I think still.
Lord Wraith is banished by the Queenies for a lack of care to his duties in the eyes of the Queens. (Please do not get me involved with your OOC shit that this comment may provoke in some of you)
Alias Karlennon dagger has gone Missing. Exiles suspected
Exiles enchanted Drow sword goes Missing. Everyone bar the Pope suspected.
Exiles and Lord Rhino patch up their differences.
Exiles presented to the three Queens. They receive Clan Colours and sashes.
All Harts present accused of being members of the Stewards guild which they profusely denied but I do not think anyone believed them.(I certainly was not convinced by their protestations:))
Thomas Finn assumes position as acting Warleader of the Bears and sets about the task of destroying the goblin hordes making their way to Loch Tay.
Master Violet is far to busy organising armies and the defence of his tower to be seen crying again.(Paul ‘I will cry if I want to’ Wilder)
Urien gets sick and tired of getting paralysed by the same ghoul four times in a really small narrow tunnel when he has asked the ghoul in question to "PLEASE STOP PARALYISING ME YOU BASTARD" guess what happened next, again, he was para! sh** f**k c*** !...etc.
Urien goes to speak to the leader of the Unicorns on the matter of an offence done by one of her men to an Exile when all of a sudden a Rank 8 Anger is cast on all in the vicinity. At which point both Urien and the Lady Adelain start to go into rather long protracted insults and start to square off ready for a fight. She gets her staff of Mage Bolt ready in a pump action Gun manner, pumping it up ready to fire while Urien starts to froth at the Mouth and is about to attack her. In steps at this stage a rather frustrated and ever so slightly angry Thomas Finn to get the Exiles out of shit again. He orders Urien to withdraw and he does then as the anger subsides Urien realises what he has done begs the Lady Adelain for her forgiveness and she grants it and she also apologises for her lack of control.
"The Original Party" comes into existence a group of players who saw it fit to go in on the last day to clear up the final stages of the castle by themselves and not tell anyone that they were going. They did succeed in everything but the last room.
In the final clearance of the Castle "the Original Party" ask for everyone else to come and Help them to kill the demon and its minions. No help arrives, unknown to the "Original Party" those goddesses called Leslie "soon to be the Wife of Steve" and Thea "of the damn good Stew cook" have informed all the "Fat Baaasttaards"(Please say it the way Chubby Brown would) that they do not have to go through the narrow crawlways but go through the other entrance. So the "Fat Baaasttaards" arrive and with the help that they Lend to the "ORIGINAL PARTY" they defeat the Demon. And they all lived happily ever after.
An Exile finds the Dagger of Alias Karlennon and returns it to Lord Tarragon who still denies being a member of the Stewards Guilds. I will say he did not fool us we know what he is.
Exiles Drow Sword still at large.

Some OOC stuff

Bring something to put under you as the ground is quite cold.
There is a shower try using it folks it makes life in the tunnels a lot more bearable. So bring a towel.
There is warm food provided which tasted damn fine.
No alcohol provided bring your own.
Don’t hit the referees to hard they may hold a grudge against you.(Unless there is a Lammie involved)
Make sure you bring loads of weapons so that some of them will get through the weapons check or just one or two that will definitely pass a check.:)

I would like to thank Steve "Mild Mannered Easily Panicked" Gibson and Leslie "Ever smiling and happy" for their hospitality at his event and to all the referees, Thea for the food, and monsters(Bar the F*****g Ghoul who paralysed me I hope you die a slow painful death somewhere in Scunthorpe may the curse of an Iranian get you) for a making this such a good first event for us at the Tower. I would recommend these event to anyone. It was worth the journey from London.

By the way if any Lammies were found on site after I left they were mine I forgot them there.:)
